Delete your MercuryPitch account
You can delete your account yourself, in the app or on this website. It happens straight away and cannot be undone.
In the app
Open Settings. Under your account, tap Delete account. The app shows what goes before it asks you to confirm.
On the web
- Open Settings, Account on mercurypitch.com. On a first visit a welcome screen opens on top: choose Skip.
- If you are not signed in, choose Sign in or create account, and sign in the way you do in the app.
- Check that the account shown is the one you want to delete.
- Open Danger Zone at the bottom, choose Delete, type delete and choose Delete forever.
Made your account with Sign in with Apple? The website has no Apple sign-in, so delete it in the app on your iPhone, or write to us.
If you cannot sign in
Write to us with the Privacy topic chosen, and give the email address on the account. We confirm the request with that address before we delete the account.
What deleting removes
All of this is erased from our servers, in one step:
- Your account and every way of signing in to it: email address, password, passkeys, two-step codes, recovery codes, and the devices you are signed in on.
- Your profile, name and settings, and who you follow and who follows you.
- Your practice history, scores, voiceprints, badges, challenge and league progress, and leaderboard entries.
- The list of songs in your library. The song files themselves were never stored with your account.
- Melodies and sessions you shared, and your survey answers.
- Unspent credits, supporter status and redeemed promo codes. Credits are not refunded.
- Your newsletter choice, and the record of what was sent to you.
- If you connected Google Drive, our key to it. We also ask Google to end MercuryPitch's access.
- If you signed up with Sign in with Apple, our link to your Apple account. We also ask Apple to revoke it, which ends Sign in with Apple for MercuryPitch.
What is kept, and for how long
- On your device. Takes, songs and practice saved in your browser or on your phone stay there. Deleting the account erases the copies on our servers, not the ones on your device. Clear them yourself: on the web in Settings, Account, Danger Zone; in the app in Settings, Storage.
- In your Google Drive. Songs you backed up to Google Drive stay in the MercuryPitch folder there. They are in your Drive, not ours, so delete that folder yourself if you want them gone.
- Payments. If you bought credits or donated, Stripe, our payment processor, keeps its own record of the payment under its own record-keeping rules. We delete our copy and our link to it.
- Share links. A short share link keeps working for up to 60 days from when it was made, and the preview image of a shared result for up to 30. They are not stored with your account, so they run out on that schedule.
- Backups. Our database keeps a restore history for 30 days, and one backup copy that is replaced each time we release an update. Your deleted records stay in them until they age out or are replaced.
- Records that no longer name you. Our log of changes to supporter perks keeps each change, with your account and email address removed.
